As the year ends, many use it as a time to take an introspective look at themselves to improve in the coming year. One of, if not the most common, the goals set by those looking to better themselves is losing weight. Many know the struggle of losing weight and know it’s no easy task. Sometimes this undertaking can make it seem like everything, including one’s own body, is fighting against their weight loss goals.
Various factors including hormonal imbalances, thyroid conditions, insulin resistance and many others may be acting as roadblocks to one’s New Year’s ambitions. Fortunately, there is a treatment option available that can help resolve or supersede these issues. This method helps one reach their weight loss goals and more importantly keep the weight off.
Fighting Weight with HCG
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, the hormone also known as hCG, can provide amazing results regarding weight and maintenance. HCG can be found in every tissue of the body, including both male and female specific organs. This hormone promotes hormone production, which combats imbalances that may be present, and assists in activating difficult to access fat reserves so the body can effectively use it.
Fat is a critical portion of the body and can be classified in three broad categories. Fat that buffers and protects one’s organs, fat held within our immediate fat reserves, and stubborn fat that is commonly housed within the stomach, hips and thighs. Through triggering a famine state by reducing caloric intake, hCG is triggered to access and utilize one’s fat stores. HCG specifically activates the hard to reach stubborn fat reserves while maintaining muscle mass.
Standard diets tend to only activate what is found in the immediate fat reserves and can also target muscle. Losing muscle mass can lead to reduced metabolism, poor body shape, and hindered physical ability. Crash diets often cause the body to enter a catabolic state, where muscle mass is consumed and destroyed. When one uses hCG, which boosts hormone production of hormones such as testosterone, an anabolic state is promoted that assists muscle building and maintenance. This action serves to counteract the destructive effects that so often come with unhealthy crash diets.
When the body can fully utilize the excess fat stored in our bodies, daily caloric requirement can be severely reduced. Research shows that utilizing hCG in small injections of approximately 125 IU to 200 IU while also restricting caloric intake to 500 kcal a day can lead to losing one pound a day. Accessing excess fat allows for this severe calorie restriction because the fat isn’t simply disappearing. One’s surplus fat is replacing the calories one would normally ingest with a standard diet. This is important as every pound of fat contains 3500 calories! Additionally, hCG keeps the hypothalamus from recognizing fat stores are being utilized, which prevents the body from entering fat storage and starvation mode. Therefore, one’s food cravings and hunger are not triggered. This helps keep weight away even after treatment is completed.
Approaching weight loss with the intention of utilizing hCG and severe caloric restriction comes with some requirements. Before this endeavor, one’s physician will require the patient to undergo a complete panel and closely monitor one’s overall health to ensure that they qualify for treatment with hCG. Furthermore, this information allows for a heavily individualized and customizable treatment dependent on the needs and goals of the patient. Whether one needs or wants to lose 20 pounds or 100 pounds hCG treatment can help. Depending on the goal, one may go through multiple treatment periods ranging from 30-40 days (patients lose approximately 15-20 lbs. per cycle). Regardless of the patient’s needs or objectives the process contains certain restrictions and guidelines.
Dietary Restrictions During HCG Treatment
During the treatment cycle, one is expected to follow a rigid set of foods to fulfill the 500 calories per day meal plan.
Breakfast: This meal consists of one of the following items:
- Handful of Strawberries
- 1/2 Grapefruit
If a beverage is needed to go along with breakfast coffee or tea is allowed. Sweeteners such as stevia, xylitol or erythritiol are allowable. Additionally, 1 Tbsp. of coconut, hemp, almond, or rice milk are suitable creamers if desired.
Snacks: One of the following is acceptable when hunger sensations occur:
- Handful of Strawberries
- 1/2 Grapefruit
- One Melba Toast
Lunch and Dinner:
The larger meals of the day include 3-1/2 ounces or 100 grams of lean protein and 3-1/2 ounces of a single vegetable from one of the options below. Keep in mind it is important not to mix vegetables for the same meal. All spices are available for use if they do not contain sugar, oil or butter. Additionally, the juice of one lemon and vinegar is allowed once per day.
- Chicken breast (no skin)
- Fresh white fish (no salmon, eel, tuna, herring)
Allowable Vegetables (not mixable):
- Green salad
- Red radishes
Although these dietary restrictions may seem extreme, especially when considering a 500-calorie daily limit, with hCG one’s hunger is severely reduced. There is also little concern of malnourishment because the body will be utilizing its excess body fat to fill in the caloric gap.
